Pseudochrome

A screen made from CMY ink.

A screen made from orange, green and violet, with large grains.

A screen made from red, blue and green.

These are experiments in pseudochrome -- emulating an Autochrome-like
screen in contact with black and white film, to produce a color image.
A few different "random" color screens were generated in photoshop and
printed out on an overhead transparency with a color laser printer. Portions
of the screen were glued with rubber cement to black and white film and
exposed in camera, screen-side toward the subject. On development, the film
yielded a weak color image!
The images you see above were inverted in photoshop, with minimal color
correction to reflect how they actually look.
